Record Drug Seizure at Southern Border
U.S. Border Patrol agents operating in Arizona's Tucson Sector made a record-breaking drug seizure this week, intercepting what officials describe as the largest single shipment of fentanyl ever recovered in the sector's operational history.
The seizure, which totaled over 500 pounds of fentanyl pills and powder, was discovered concealed in a sophisticated compartment within a commercial vehicle attempting to cross through a port of entry.
According to DEA estimates, the seized quantity represents enough fentanyl to produce over 100 million lethal doses — underscoring the scale of the drug trafficking crisis at the southern border.
